Networking

Networking events are free to attend for all ideasUK members

ideasUK runs regular Networking Meetings around the UK, that are free to members and a great way of sharing best practice on Programme Management.

Join us and celebrate International Ideas Week during May 2010.

There will be events held all around the UK during International Ideas Week.

Networking GraphicideasUK launched National Ideas Day on 14th March 2001. The original day (14 March) having been chosen as a special day to focus on creativity and innovation in the workplace on the anniversary of Einstein’s birth.

Due to the success of celebrating this special day our members asked that the celebrations be extended to a week.

So each year in May, ideasUK International Ideas Week™ is now celebrated. This allows our members to hold special events within their organisations as well as attend the one-day seminar arranged as part of these celebrations - ideasUK International Ideas Week™

Benchmarking – the opportunity to understand and compare what other members are doing.

Discuss and compare issues of common interest e.g. how to consult stakeholders, how to maintain momentum, how to market the programme, how to link with other quality improvement initiatives.
Opportunity to identify topics for discussion and build on best practice.
Opportunity to develop your skills and those of your team.
Increasing efficiency and productivity.
Sharing ideas and solving problems.
Raising the profile of the suggestion, recognition programme, and your organisation.
Raising your personal profile by becoming an established networking member getting your face and business name known as an active networking partner.
Promoting the benefits of involving employees both within your organisation and to UK business.

You have the opportunity to further your personal, professional and career development and your business' growth by learning from others' experience, and how they have dealt with similar problems or situations.

You also have an opportunity to assist others by sharing your knowledge and expertise in this specialist area .

When it comes to seeking advice or help to address a weakness or need these networking events provide an excellent opportunity to learn.

Through group discussion and sharing of experience and knowledge attendees will take away with them new ideas and concepts to enhance the value of the programme within their organisation.

Whether you are considering a new programme, have an existing programme or are re-launching, these meetings will be of great benefit to you.

Please note if you wish to attend (remember these events are free of charge to ideasUK members) you must advise us. Spaces are limited to early booking is recommended.

Please email us to book for a networking meeting (or offer a venue).

Management support is vital to the success of suggestion and recognition programmes. A special event can be used to invite renewed interest and support from management.

By reminding them of the contribution ideas from employees have made to efficiency and profitability over the last year, as well as the positive impact on staff morale and improved communication, can encourage them to take a more proactive role in supporting and developing the scheme.

It may be helpful to remind managers of the commitment given by other leading organisations (including competitors) and the CBI to supporting employee involvement in suggestion programmes.
